Don Gioacchino is the powerhouse of this collection. Made from the native Coratina, it offers intense green aromas of almond, artichoke and olive leaf, followed by a pronounced bitter and peppery structure. This is not an olive oil that stays in the background, but an Extra Virgin for lovers of character and length.

For the 2025/2026 harvest, Don Gioacchino ranks number 1 in the overall World's Best Olive Oils ranking. That places not only this olive oil, but producer Sabino Leone himself, firmly among the absolute international elite.

La Patràun is almost the opposite of Don Gioacchino. This monovarietal is made from 100% Peranzana, a native olive variety from Puglia. It is a refined yet characterful olive oil with aromas of artichoke, tomato leaf and thistle. On the palate, the heart of the artichoke is especially prominent.

Bitterness and pepperiness are clearly present but beautifully balanced. La Patràun therefore forms the elegant middle of this collection: unmistakably Italian and green, yet much softer and more refined than the powerful Coratina.

Ex Terra is the organic and most versatile olive oil of the three. It has medium fruitiness with aromas of green almond and field herbs. Bitterness and pepperiness are moderate and finish with an elegant note of bitter almond.

This makes Ex Terra more approachable than Don Gioacchino while still remaining clearly green and full of character. Alongside the two monovarietal oils, it beautifully demonstrates what a carefully composed organic blend can add.

This collection is ideal for tasting side by side. Start with Ex Terra, continue with La Patràun and finish with Don Gioacchino. This allows the tasting to build gradually from balanced and approachable towards increasing green intensity, bitterness and pepperiness.
