Two premium Italian extra virgin olive oils from two completely different regions. Franci Toscano IGP represents the classic elegance of Tuscany, while 100% Coratina Coppadoro reveals the power and intensity of Puglia. Together they form a small journey through olive-oil country Italy.
Two bottles, two regions, two completely different styles
Talking about Italian olive oil as if there were one typical Italian flavour does the country little justice. From north to south, the climate, olive varieties, landscape and culinary traditions can differ enormously.
With this set, you can taste that difference directly. Franci Toscano IGP comes from Tuscany and represents the classic green and refined Tuscan style. Coppadoro comes from Puglia and is made entirely from Coratina, an olive variety renowned for its distinctive character.
Together, they are two beautiful calling cards from one of the world’s most important olive-oil countries.
Frantoio Franci is one of the great names in Tuscan olive oil. This Toscano IGP is made with classic regional olive varieties including Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino and Olivastra.
The aroma and flavour reveal freshly picked olives, artichoke, ripe fruit, tomato and vegetal notes. The fruitiness is followed by pleasant bitterness and pepperiness of medium intensity.
A beautiful olive oil for bruschetta, vegetables, pulses, soups, salads and delicately flavoured fish and meat dishes.
At the other end of the flavour spectrum is Coppadoro from Ciccolella in Puglia. This extra virgin olive oil is made exclusively from Coratina, one of southern Italy’s most characterful olive varieties.
Where the Tuscan oil demonstrates refinement and balance, Coppadoro clearly opts for more intensity. It has pronounced green aromas, bitterness and pepperiness – exactly why lovers of powerful Italian olive oil appreciate Coratina so much.
Excellent with grilled vegetables, robust salads, pulses, red meat, pasta and, of course, simply with good bread.
Start in Tuscany and then travel south to Puglia
Want to compare the two oils properly? Taste them first on their own or with a piece of neutral bread. Begin with the Franci Toscano IGP and then move on to the more powerful Coppadoro Coratina.
This makes it much easier to experience just how large the differences within a single country can be. It is not only the olive variety that changes, but also terroir, tradition and regional taste preferences. That is precisely what makes Italian olive oil so fascinating.
Tuscany and Puglia are both famous olive-oil regions, yet they produce very different styles. Tuscany is strongly associated with olives such as Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino and with green, elegant oils in which bitterness and pepperiness remain beautifully balanced.
Puglia is warmer, further south and home to varieties including the mighty Coratina. Olive oil there can often speak more loudly. This set puts those regional differences side by side in a fun and, above all, delicious way.
Both olive oils are also available individually. Perfect if the tasting reveals that Tuscany – or perhaps Puglia – is clearly your favourite.
