Both editions are made from the same rare Lianolia, but the harvest time creates a distinct difference in character. The Limited Edition is harvested earlier and is more powerful; the Premium is harvested slightly later and shows a more floral and fruity style.
More fruit and floral elegance, with notes of green tomato and almond. A distinctive yet slightly more approachable Governor.
More robust and intense, with aromas of rocket, artichoke and freshly cut grass. The polyphenol content is generally higher as well.
An almost forgotten olive variety from ancient groves
The Governor is made exclusively from Lianolia, an ancient olive variety that has grown on Corfu for centuries. The Dafnis family's olive groves lie in the southwest of the island, around the Byzantine fortress of Gardiki and close to the protected Korission lagoon. Some trees are several centuries old.
The family controls the entire process from tree to bottle. Annual production is therefore limited and closely connected to one place, one family and one olive variety. That is precisely what gives The Governor its distinctive identity.
The Dafnis family's olive groves lie in southwest Corfu, in the area around Gardiki and the Korission lagoon. The family has produced olive oil here for more than a century and manages the complete process itself. The ancient Lianolia trees, island climate and limited production give The Governor a profound connection to its origin.
The gold-coloured metal portrait of Kapodistrias forms the visual centrepiece of the bottle. Together with the dark, stately design and luxury outer packaging, The Governor almost takes on the character of a collector's piece. It is the kind of bottle that is first admired, then discussed and only afterwards opened.
