One of the three olive oils we started with over 20 years ago – and still in our range today. A classic Tuscan blend of Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo: green, powerful, elegant and still world-class. Read more
Franci Frantoio DOP is green, powerful and aromatic. On the nose and palate you find fresh-cut grass, green tomato, artichoke, green herbs and walnut. Bitterness provides structure and the pepperiness builds beautifully towards a long, peppery finish.
Wonderful with crostini, tomato, pulses, pasta, grilled vegetables, red meat, robust fish and, of course, good bread. This is not a neutral olive oil that quietly disappears into the background. It deserves to be part of the dish.
Frantoio Franci is located in Montenero d'Orcia, in a hilly part of southern Tuscany. This is the historic home of the family business.
Tuscany has a very different olive-oil identity from many of the large Spanish production regions. Small plots, hilly terrain and traditional cultivars play an important role. The result is often an expressive green style in which bitterness and pepperiness are deliberately part of the flavour.
