From rough diamond to Italian jewel

JOIL was created as a tribute to Italian quality and elegance. The name is short for Jewel Oil Italian Luxury, and the producer compares the oil itself to a rough diamond that is brought to full brilliance through care, craftsmanship and passion.

The olives grow on difficult, rocky terrain in Umbria. Here the trees root in very little soil, resulting in a small production with an expressive character. Harvesting is carried out with care and the oil is cold extracted. The result is not an everyday Extra Virgin olive oil, but one deliberately presented as an Italian premier cru.

ORIGIN
The rocky heart of Umbria

JOIL comes from Umbria, from the area around Campello sul Clitunno. Here olive trees grow on rocky slopes where little soil is available and harvesting is anything but easy. It is precisely these demanding conditions that help Moraiolo develop its characteristic green, herbal and peppery profile. The small production and labour-intensive harvest contribute to the exclusive character of this oil.

MORAIOLO

Small fruit, great character

Moraiolo is one of the characteristic olive varieties of central Italy. The olive yields relatively little oil, but is known for the intensity of what it gives: green aromas, herbs, bitterness and a pronounced peppery finish.

This makes JOIL an oil not to use thoughtlessly in cooking, but to enjoy deliberately as a finishing oil. Just a few drops can completely transform a simple dish.
