What makes Rincón de la Subbética so special
Rincón de la Subbética has belonged to the absolute top of the international olive oil world for many years. This organic extra virgin olive oil is made exclusively from Hojiblanca olives, harvested during the very first days of the season. This early harvest produces a relatively low oil yield, but delivers the freshness, intensity and complexity for which Rincón is renowned.
The olives grow in the protected landscape of the Sierras Subbéticas near Priego de Córdoba. Immediately after harvesting, they are carefully processed to preserve as much of the character of the fresh fruit as possible. The result is not an everyday olive oil, but a genuinely gastronomic product. That is exactly why Rincón has been one of our personal benchmarks for many years when it comes to what an exceptional extra virgin olive oil can be.
Almazaras de la Subbética – Priego de Córdoba
Producer Almazaras de la Subbética is based in Carcabuey, in the heart of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park in the province of Córdoba. The cooperative has more than sixty years of experience and is internationally recognised as a benchmark producer of premium extra virgin olive oil. Rincón de la Subbética carries the protected designation of origin DOP Priego de Córdoba, meaning its origin and production must meet strict requirements.
One of the most awarded olive oils in the world
Rincón de la Subbética consistently ranks among the very best in major international rankings and competitions. For the 2024/2025 season, the oil achieved the number 1 position in the World's Best Olive Oils ranking and is described by the producer as the most awarded extra virgin olive oil in Spanish history.
