Sansone comes from Lecce in southern Italy and has been building stainless-steel food containers for decades. What began in 1964 with small tanks and buckets grew into a specialist manufacturer for both domestic and professional applications.
Olive oil, wine, honey and other liquid foods all place demands on material, construction and hygiene. That is why Sansone is such a logical brand for us: stainless steel and food are not a sideline – they are the company's speciality.
Sansone does not call this compact model Il Gioiello – the jewel – for nothing. While many stainless-steel storage tanks are designed purely for function, this 5-litre model has deliberately been kept compact enough to sit neatly on a worktop or in an open kitchen.
With a five-litre capacity, it is particularly suitable for enthusiastic home cooks, smaller hospitality businesses, delicatessens or anyone who prefers to buy good olive oil in larger quantities and use it from one solid container.
Il Gioiello is manufactured from 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel. This is a widely used grade of stainless steel for applications where food and liquids come directly into contact with the material.
It is strong, durable and easy to clean. Stainless steel also completely blocks light. That is particularly important for olive oil, as light is one of the factors that can affect oil quality during storage.
If you buy five litres of high-quality Extra Virgin olive oil, you naturally want that oil to stay in good condition. An opaque stainless-steel container helps protect the contents from light and provides a practical way to keep your supply closed and stored.
Keep the tank in a cool place away from direct heat sources. For everyday use, all you then need to do is open the tap.
The tank is supplied with a stainless-steel dispensing tap. This allows you to fill a smaller bottle or pouring jug directly without having to tilt a large container every time.
Especially when combined with a smaller stainless-steel pouring jug, it becomes a very practical system: keep five litres well protected and refill only the amount you need in the kitchen.
That is why Il Gioiello is supplied with a plastic stand. It raises the tank sufficiently to allow comfortable dispensing beneath the tap.
The result is a compact system that can simply be placed on a sturdy worktop, shelf or kitchen counter.
Large enough to enjoy the benefits of buying in a bigger format, yet compact enough not to take over half the kitchen. That makes this tank particularly convenient both at home and in smaller professional environments.
Dimensions of the tank itself: 23 cm diameter and 20 cm high. With the supplied stand, the total height is approximately 33–35 cm.
No complicated equipment, no electronics and no unnecessary features. Just a solid Italian stainless-steel tank, a good tap and a size that remains perfectly practical at home. Fill it with good olive oil, place a Sansone pouring jug beside it and you are essentially all set.
