An organic extra virgin olive oil from Almazaras de la Subbética that proves excellent quality does not have to be reserved for special occasions. A harmonious blend of Picudo, Picual and Hojiblanca with fruitiness, green almond and a beautiful balance of sweetness, bitterness and pepperiness.
An affordable olive oil from an exceptional mill
Almaoliva BIO is produced by Almazaras de la Subbética in Carcabuey, in the famous olive-oil region around Priego de Córdoba.
What makes this oil special is not only its flavour, but the combination of quality and everyday usability. It is a genuine organic extra virgin olive oil from an outstanding producer without needing to be saved drop by drop for one special dish.
It belongs on the kitchen counter. And that is probably where it will stay.
Almaoliva BIO has medium to high fruitiness in which green and slightly riper aromas complement each other beautifully.
The flavour begins gently and almost sweetly before notes of green almond emerge. Bitterness and pepperiness follow, clearly present but always balanced.
That harmony makes the oil approachable while still being interesting enough for experienced olive-oil enthusiasts.
For Almaoliva BIO, Almazaras de la Subbética combines three classic Andalusian varieties: Picudo, Picual and Hojiblanca.
Picudo contributes elegance and aromatic fruitiness. Picual adds structure, green character and pepperiness. Hojiblanca brings its own fresh and herbaceous dimension.
The objective is not for one cultivar to dominate. The blend itself is the point.
All olives used for this oil come from organic cultivation. The oil is therefore both extra virgin and fully organically produced.
After harvesting, the olives are washed and milled. The oil is mechanically separated in a two-phase system, filtered and stored under protected conditions until bottling.
A logical choice for anyone who deliberately chooses organic without compromising on flavour.
The same house as Rincón – with a different purpose
Almaoliva BIO comes from the same mill as Rincón de la Subbética, among others. Yet the two oils are deliberately very different.
Rincón is designed as a distinctive premium olive oil focused on very early harvesting, intensity and maximum aromatic expression. Almaoliva is more approachable and intended to be used much more often.
They are simply two different choices from the same exceptional mill.
Use Almaoliva BIO raw with salads, bread, tomatoes, grilled vegetables, meat, oily fish and toast.
It is equally suited to the warm kitchen: frying, sautéing, roasted vegetables, pasta or Mediterranean stews.
That makes it a very logical choice for anyone who does not want five different olive-oil bottles beside the cooker.
Almaoliva BIO is available from us in different packaging formats. The olive oil itself is exactly the same.
The bottle is convenient for the table and for anyone who alternates between several oils. The larger tin is ideal for frequent use, serious home cooking or anyone looking for one dependable organic extra virgin olive oil for the kitchen.
You are not choosing between two quality levels – only the packaging that best matches the way you use it.
With Almaoliva BIO, we are regularly asked how an organic extra virgin olive oil from this producer can be priced so attractively.
A large part of the answer lies in scale, direct purchasing and positioning. Almazaras de la Subbética is a large and highly efficient cooperative producer. We buy directly and in substantial quantities.
We benefit from that – and ultimately, so do you.
The area around Priego de Córdoba is one of Andalusia’s best-known olive-oil regions. Hills covered with olive trees, large differences between day and night temperatures and generations of expertise have created an impressive olive-oil culture here.
Almaoliva BIO may be the more approachable oil of the house, but it comes from the very same region responsible for some of Spain’s most celebrated extra virgin olive oils.
